F.A.Q

What can I expect in my first session?

The first session is a chance for us to get to know each other. We will talk about your goals, your history, and what brought you to counseling. Intakes typically run a little longer than a regular session, so plan on 90 minutes. Together, we will start shaping a plan that fits your needs.

How long are sessions?

Most counseling sessions are 50 minutes. Longer 90-minute sessions are available for intakes, family counseling, or specialized situations. I also offer shorter 30-minute sessions upon request.

What ages do you see?

I provide counseling for children ages 6 and older, teens, and adults.

Do you offer family counseling?

Yes. I work primarily with parent-child relationships to strengthen communication, reduce conflict, and build healthier family dynamics.

Do you provide Christian faith-based counseling?

Yes, but only if you request it. While all counseling is grounded in professional, evidence-based practices, I can integrate Christian faith into sessions for clients who desire it. This is always optional and guided by your preferences.

What types of issues do you help with?

I work with clients facing anxiety, depression, trauma, substance use concerns, grief and loss, stress, family conflict, and life transitions.

Do you offer telehealth?

Most sessions are offered through secure telehealth, allowing you to connect from the comfort and privacy of your own home. In-person sessions may be available in the future.

Do you accept insurance?

I offer private pay sessions with secure online payment. I am now accepting select insurance plans. Please reach out to discuss your coverage and options for making counseling accessible.

What are your private pay options?

Private pay fees may vary depending on the service provided. I am happy to discuss rates with you directly during a consultation.

Do you offer a sliding scale?

A limited number of reduced-fee spots are available. Please contact me for more details.

Can I use an HSA or FSA card?

Many clients are able to use Health Savings Accounts (HSA) or Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) for counseling. Please check with your provider to confirm your benefits.

What is your cancellation policy?

I require 24 hours’ notice for cancellations. Late cancellations or missed sessions may be billed at a reduced session fee.

Is counseling confidential?

Yes, counseling sessions are private and confidential. There are a few exceptions required by law, such as concerns for your safety, the safety of others, or suspected child or elder abuse. These limits will be explained clearly in your intake paperwork.

What if I am in crisis?

If you are experiencing a mental health emergency, please call 911 or 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline), or go to the nearest emergency department. My practice is not able to provide emergency or crisis services.
